Abstract :
Thickness deviation is the key technical index of veneer quality. How to control the thickness deviation in the minimum range became an important problem of technical innovation in machine production enterprises of veneer. So there are various monitoring device for thickness emerge as. This paper introduces a kind of online testing system which uses non-destructive test method and based on beta rays. As the control core, this system uses Siemens S7-200 PLC to collect input signals, do some and display them. Combined with Siemens TP27 touch screen, the system can real-time display the thickness of the veneer, and emit a control signal to improve the system. After several experiments on aspen veneers and other different materials, the conclusion is that the basic reason for thickness deviation is the nonlinear exponential relationship between the flux density of the ray and the thickness. So the effective way to reduce the thickness deviation is shorten each testing time.
