Abstract
Two systems that are in use at Channel Four are described. The on-air presentation of programmes is handled by the Computer Aided Transmission System (CATS). The dissemination of on-air and advance schedule information to the regional Independent Television companies is via a system called IDENT which encodes this information as a teletext signal.
