Abstract :
The Wave Rider Information Processing System was developed to measure ocean wave characteristics at remote locations. This information can be useful in the design of ocean platforms and break reefs and in the scheduling of ocean shipping. At scheduled times, wave data is sampled, recorded and transmitted through the ARGOS or GOES satellites.
