            Abstract : 
Closed-form Green´s functions composed of image theory expressions and surface wave expressions are given for open or shielded, thin or thick microstrip structures. These Green´s functions possess computational efficiency and share the precision of numerical computation of Sommerfeld integrals. The effect of a shield plate on the Green´s functions is investigated. Numerical results show the validity of these Green´s functions and confirm their usefulness in improving MMIC (monolithic-microwave-integrated-circuit) software such as WATMIC-EMsim.<>
