Abstract :
This paper shows how risk management can be applied to combined cycle power plants to take into account the uncertainties of the process. The main innovative point is the consideration of additional mitigation actions to reduce the exposure of the identified risks. Model predictive control is used to select the strategic plan to execute according to an index performance. The scheduling may be focused on short-term or long-term range, depending on the sample time, objectives and parameters to evaluate. This work is applied to long-term scheduling to study the viability of the plant. A simulation model has been considered to show the benefits of the method.
