Abstract :
The author discusses the main types of industrial generating plant. These are: back-pressure steam turbines; pass-out steam turbines; gas turbines; and diesel engines. The author describes the characteristics and operation of the back-pressure, pass-out and gas turbines as well as aero-derivative gas turbines. Large scale industrial power generation is discussed
