Abstract :
Existing transportation systems have emerged as a major obstacle to solving problems such as traffic jams, increasing distribution costs, and traffic safety. In turn, the ITS (intelligent transport system) targeting of intellectual vehicles and transportation infrastructure like roads and signals is becoming more important. ITS standards of wireless communication are also drawing attention. New traffic control strategies utilizing real-time traffic information are being developed. The traffic information is collected using ITS wireless technology. The DSRC system in particular is being expanded within the ETCS, and the use of OBE is increasing. This infrastructure will have a great influence on the ITS industry and in-depth study focused on the utilization of present infrastructure is on-going in various fields. The optimum traffic signal control system using quality real-time information through existing infrastructure is under development. This paper proposes a new traffic signal controller of WISDOM utilizing DSRC to develop new strategies based on real-time traffic information.
