  • Abstract
The usual method of obtaining statistical derivatives such as significant heights, average periods etc., from sea or response spectra is to assume a particular probability distribution function and then calculate the derivatives from the properties of the assumed distribution. A method of generating time-domain records that satisfy a target spectra density and then calculating the statistical derivatives directly from these records is presented in this paper.
