Abstract
The slot admittance and radiated fields are calculated for elliptical microstrip antennas with arbitrary ellipticity and feed points by using a full Mathieu function formulation. The slot conductance in the limit agrees with the result of L.C. Shen (1979). The circular polarization of the radiated field can only be obtained for a feed point along the radial direction of phi /sub 0/=45 degrees . Varying the feed point along the radial direction of phi /sub 0/=45 degrees strongly affects the radiated fields at circular polarization.<>
