  • Abstract
    An application of measurement method of sound intensity is discussed from practical engineering perspective based on experimental analysis to identify the main noise source of vehicle. The 3D sound intensity charts are plotted to find the main noise source which adversely affects interior noise of a specific vehicle at idle condition. Meanwhile, the relevant components are optimized and improved in combination with frequency spectrum analysis to reduce interior noise and improve vehicle NVH performance. The test results indicate that the technology of source intensity measurement and frequency spectrum analysis can be applied to identify the main noise source quickly, and the improvement method is presented accordingly.
