Abstract
As tethered vehicles become larger and are operated at greater depths, the cost of the umbilical cable is becoming a more significant item in the overall cost of the system. Cable life, therefore, is taking on increased importance. This paper describes a motion compensated Cable Handling System designed to minimize cable fatigue life.
