Abstract :
This paper discusses the present techniques used in fisheries hydroacoustics with an emphasis on some newer developments in fish stock assessment. The basic technique of echo integration is briefly described. Methods now in use and coming into use as tools in fisheries hydroacoustics are discussed in a functional and technical context.
