Abstract :
Quality Function Deployment for Environment (QFDE) is an effective eco-design tool to consider Voices of Customer and Environment (VOCE) simultaneously. VOCE are related to some engineering metrics with proper weights through House of Quality in QFDE. Then the engineering metrics ordered by the weights are used into product eco-design for evaluating environmental effect or advancing some design improvement suggestions. The process and advantages of applying QFDE in product eco-design are analyzed in detail through a case of an engine.
