Abstract :
Research on UWB technology has been attracting a lot of attention from both academics and industry ever since the FCC allocated 3.1 to 10.6 GHz spectrum at the dawn of this decade. This huge spectrum readily presented challenges and opportunities in antenna design. In this present paper we have designed three planar monopole antennas, circular, elliptical and circular monopole with U-shaped ring. The last of the three is shown to exhibit better radiation characteristics along the band.
