Abstract :
Most of the services the future B-ISDN must support have a multicast nature, that is, the packetized information has to be transmitted to multiple and selective network destinations. Under this traffic pattern the ATM switching nodes have to be able to replicate the copies demanded by each master cell and to switch them. Recently we proposed the HITIBAS switch in a point-to-point environment. In this paper, we study two approaches to adapt the HITIBAS architecture to operate with multicast traffic
