  • Abstract
It is pointed out that multidimensional (MD) recursive digital filters may be designed from passive s-domain prototype LCR filters. Unrealizable delay-free loops are avoided by applying a predistortion technique to the reactance branches of the prototype filter, prior to bilinear transformation. Recursive differentiators are used to implement the multidimensional discrete reactance branches in a Type II ladder signal flow graph. The resultant filters exhibit a high level of concurrency and therefore the potential for high-speed processing. The 3D recursive filters that are designed are well suited for the enhancement of linear trajectory signals in dynamic images
