Abstract :
On the impact of the modern building, this article discusses the meaning and the characteristics of regionalism. It analyzes the works of the Mexican architect Luis Barragan which focus on the background, the natural conditions, the sites, the colors, and the traditional culture to enable people to understand him better. As Barragan has developed a unique regional style, his architectural practice and theories may be a reference to Chinese architects who are in the exploration of developing a Chinese regional style.
