Abstract :
It has been shown by H. Shnitkin (1985) that a 1-D electronically phased array can be aligned to a direction determined by the propagation constant in an ancillary, lightly coupled traveling-wave waveguide feed provided for that purpose. This linear array phase alignment method is extended to a general 2-D phased array alignment and failure isolation technique. Practical considerations on the development of a real built-in-test (BIT) system are enumerated.<>
