  • Abstract
    Summary form only given. We have successfully demonstrated 2.5-Gbit/s eight WDM transmission over 12000 km using electroabsorption modulator (EA)/DFB-LDs in the WDM transmitter. The results obtained show the high confidence with which EA/DFB-LDs can be applied to ultralong-haul optically amplified WDM systems.
