Abstract
To organise and implement software engineering by software process systems are a new approach in the software industry. This paper develops an integrated framework for software engineering process systems, and unifies a variety of theories in process system modelling, implementation and assessment. Fundamental architectures and requirements for software engineering process system modelling and analysis are investigated systematically. The unified process framework provides an over-arching software engineering process system and a set of formal descriptions. With the unified framework, theoretical and structural foundations can be laid for modelling and analysis of software engineering process systems. Based on the unified framework, current process models and methodologies can be integrated unexpected gaps and omissions of them can be identified and new process systems can be built-up with a well investigated foundation
