The necessity of the quality assurance for plants and operating means of the distribution network gains more and more importance. It is recommendable, for the operation of the distribution network, to use methods of quality assurance, to and not to leave them solely to the manufacturer of the operating means. The inclusion of the services enterprises into methods of quality assurance seems to be very important. Many advantages, especially in those areas with which electricity supply companies must increasingly deal with such as safety, ecology, spatial planning and reliability, are opposed to the costs which are inevitably connected with a higher quality. Electricity supply companies should aim at a quality which is optimal in a technical-economical respect as it is demanded by the power economy law
