Abstract :
The isolation effect of the non-eccentric or eccentric single building with base isolation and the multiple building with common isolation are analyzed by self developed software. The results show that, the isolation effect of using the method of non-eccentric multiple building with common isolation under seismic force is the same with the single building with base isolation. However, using the method of eccentric multiple building with common isolation under seismic force can significantly decrease the torsional effects of the base. Under this situation the max torsional acceleration may be decreased at least 55%, while the max torsional displacement may be decreased at least 97%. In conclusion, under the permitted conditions, using the method of eccentric multiple building with common isolation may enhance the isolation effect.
