Abstract
Developments in power electronic switches and low cost actuator based on an electronic controller have made it possible to design and implement many functions for a new electric brush cutter. Such an attempt has made in this work by using an electronic controller to control this new brush cutter. Certain important issues in design including the making signal generator and its driver, some kinds of sensors, dynamic status display, and a DC voltage regulator have been resolved. The performances of the proposed shoulder-type brush cutter were validated through extensive experiments and a laboratory scale implementation.
