Abstract :
Design data and guidelines are presented to help predict and maximize the performance of axial-flow carbon dioxide canister designs using alkali metal hydroxide absorbers. The design data are derived from a series of laboratory tests conducted at the Naval Coastal Systems Center to isolate the effects of environmental and geometric parameters on canister absorption efficiency. A sample canister design is considered to demonstrate the use of the derived data to predict effective canister life.
