  • Abstract
    The coefficient sensitivity of two-dimensional (2-D) separable-denominator digital filters is examined using the Roesser local state-space (LSS) model. A technique is then developed for synthesizing the filter structure with low sensitivity. This is suitable for 2-D separable-denominator digital filters. It is also clarified that the filter structure with low sensitivity can easily be derived from the balanced realization. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the utility of the proposed technique
