Abstract :
Qualitative measurement interpretation (QMI) is an area of artificial intelligence concerned with generating an understanding of the behaviour of a system from a qualitative description of the monitored signals. K.D. Forbus (1986) presented a theory for qualitative measurement interpretation and described a domain independent algorithm based on Waltz filtering. The paper describes recent extensions of this work
