Abstract :
A componential model of creativity is presented, in which three essential components-domain-relevant skills, creativity-relevant skills, and intrinsic task motivation-enter into the creative process. Evidence is presented demonstrating that work environments can influence intrinsic motivation and, thus, creativity. An effort is then made to explore how motivation influences cognition
