Abstract
Investigates and presents simulation results on the conditioning of the input autocorrelation matrix of an adaptive equalizer used for interference suppression in a CDMA system. The results are presented for varying interference and noise conditions and for varying equalizer orders. The study is important as the conditioning of the autocorrelation matrix affects the convergence of the adaptive equalizer critically. Results presented show the need for an adaptive algorithm which can perform suitably under situations of poor conditioning of the autocorrelation matrix
