Abstract :
Summary form only given. Optical time-division-multiplexed (TDM) systems, operating at single stream data rates of 100 Gbit/s, are of great interest because they can support low-delay bandwidth on demand service to high-end users. A number of key technologies must come together to realize high performance TDM networks. High-speed optical sources, all-optical switches, buffers and rate converters are all required. In this talk, we give an overview of architecture for ultra-high-speed TDM networks and describe recent key technology developments.
