Abstract :
This paper assessed the advantages of analyzing and managing green space patterns and environmental impacts based on Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information System (GIS). For this purpose, taking Xuzhou City as an example, signatures of green space and vegetation indices are chosen to extract vegetation information from remotely sensed images and pattern indices are selected to simulate and analyze environmental impacts of green space. Finally, an integrated system for optimization, management and planning based on RS and GIS is proposed and some examples are given.
