Abstract :
The application of Wavelet-based still image compression is becoming more and more perfect as the wavelet theory research proceeds in latest decade. Based on the analysis of the basic theory of wavelet transform, the application of wavelet transform is studied in still image compression, and implement the Daubechies 9/7 wavelet transform of three decomposition by using the VC++ platform programming. The experimental results are given in the corresponding part of the reconstructed image and compression ratio and PSNR values.
