Abstract :
Land-based, transportable, military satellite communications antennas, at SHF, have reflector geometries which employ single feeds and manual steering. Using array techniques enables the expansion of antenna performance, principally in terms of beam tailoring, beam steering, spatial interference rejection, ease of use and the formation of multiple beams. The authors identify those techniques which are relevant to low- and medium-gain antennas, for transportable, quick-reaction SATCOMS
