Abstract :
The paper presents a comparison of the performance between coherent RAKE and differential RAKE receivers with perfect channel estimation. The perfect channel estimation assumption can be realised in the forward link where there is a pilot channel. In the reverse link however, where there is no pilot channel, errors in channel estimation lead to deviations from the theoretical performance. A channel adapted RAKE receiver is proposed to minimise these deviations
