Abstract
A power amplifier performed by means of switching-mode operations is presented together with its applications. The switching mode operations are available for use at relatively low frequencies and are applicable for high-power outputs. This paper first describes the operation principles, configuration, frequency spectrum analysis and basic characteristics of the switching-mode linear amplifier. Next, waveform converters, achieved by using nonlinear switching-mode amplifiers, are proposed. Finally, a switching mode variable phase shifter is reported together with experimental results
