Abstract :
We generalize a new wideband DOA estimation algorithm that can work on large aperture arrays. The original algorithm is designed to work strictly for uniform linear arrays. In this paper, we demonstrate how to generalize the algorithm to work over non-uniform linear antenna arrays. Two methods are proposed. One is simple, but introduces geometric distortion, the other one uses interpolation and linear least squares method to correct the distortion to raise performance of estimation. Results on experimental data and comparisons with the original algorithm are shown to verify the efficacy of the proposed techniques.
