Abstract
The polymer battery has opened up a whole new field of research. Whilst it will certainly not replace the lead acid accumulator-it is however a real alternative for other rechargeable battery systems in the consumer battery field. With further increased electronics within the motor car this polymer battery is also interesting as regards a separate power supply. The author discusses four main points: characteristics and construction of polymers; conductivity polymers; electrochemistry of conductivity polymers; and features of cells with polymer electrodes
