Abstract
Summary form only given. We demonstrate bit synchronization of two incoming l-Gbit/s input signals using a subcarrier pilot tone superimposed on the data of each channel at a frequency equal to the channel data rate. Each subcarrier is extracted and electronically mixed in real time with a local clock to generate an output signal proportional to their relative phase differential.
