Abstract
This paper proposes a method to model the thermotechnical parameters for the HITACHI-MAN-B&W 6L80MC/MCE main engine, which is widely used in various modern container ships. The simulation model for the main engines under the stable working condition is established using filling-emptying algorithm. This model has been extensively validated by a set of computer programs. The comparison of the model generated output parameters and output curves with the real working parameters shows the promising performance of our method. Moreover, this model has been applied in the SMSC-20002 marine engine room simulator, which validates the stability, efficiency and the practicability of our model.
