An organisational framework for the analysis and design of advanced office systems

The article is concerned with the nature of a development approach for the design of office systems. The focus is centred on certain characteristics of work organisations, and of the design process, and thence with the adequacy of existing approaches to design. A discussion of these issues may contribute to a formal prior understanding of the organisational context into which systems analysts and designers intervene
