Abstract :
This paper reports on the thermoelectric properties of single-crystal Bi nanowires of diameters between 80 and 450 nm synthesized by the Ulitovskii method. The results of an experimental study of the effect of longitudinal magnetic fields and elastic stretch on the resistance and thermo-power is presented. The resulting power factor is calculated. The observed dependences are interpreted in terms of electron-surface scattering and inter-band scattering.
