Abstract
Hungary begins an intensive development. At present, geothermal heat consumption is about 4.5 PJ a year. This very small energy quantity can be raised to more than 60 PJ a year on the basis of the available energy basis data. Nowadays, geothermal heat has a tiny share in district heat supply in Hungary. In addition to the official district heating, also other utilization in building heating is to be enhanced: at least partial heat supply of self-government or state owned buildings, agricultural and village heating shall be realized in the immediate future.
