Abstract :
The Program for Regional Observing and Forecasting Services (PROFS) has developed a highly flexible, interactive system for improved weather forecasting. Several real-time tests with the participation of operational forecasters have demonstrated the viability of the system. The modular, systematic approach employed in developing the PROFS system makes it possible to apply the PROFS processing and display techniques in other areas as well.
