Abstract :
Power line carrier sensor network uses power lines as the communication medium. But the power-line channel change dynamically and the communication links often become unstable or asymmetric, therefore the network topology change rapidly. In order to cope with the inherent dynamic characteristics of the network, an improved dynamic source routing (IDSR) protocol is introduced. We proposed a novel route maintenance method according to the feature of network topology to fix the broken route as soon as possible. Meanwhile a probabilistic flooding strategy is combined to reduce the network traffic. It was shown via computer simulations that IDSR improves average network throughput and packet delivery ratio compared to regular DSR.
