Abstract :
The ability to rank targets is at the heart of the situation assessment (SA). The defensive assessment is generally a function of several diverse criteria. Conventional approaches of rank things can´t achieve satisfying performance, for these criteria include many descriptive, approximate reasoning rules and imprecise parameters. This paper systemically introduces an approach to rank targets for SA by applying fuzzy theory to partial orderings. Fuzzy relations are used to codify partial orderings for target prioritization. A typical approach to rank targets via fuzzy partial orderings is proposed, in which targets are to be ranked by three criteria: the target´s fight power, the target´s moving direction and the target´s distance. An example presents how fuzzy partial ordering allows us to control the manner and degree to which diverse criteria interact to produce a target rank, and demonstrates the validity and advantage of the proposed approach.
