Abstract :
The propagation and coupling of electromagnetic waveguide modes in ferromagnetic materials is considered. The type of ferromagnetic waveguides that are widely used in fundamental experiments, and in applications, consist of thin films of yttrium-iron-garnet (YIG) on a non-magnetic substrate made of gallium-gadolinium-garnet (GGG). They find applications in, for example, integrated optics and as elements of memory devices
