Abstract :
In the past few years the number of loads producing harmonic in the power system has grown. It is therefore important to know what impact harmonics will have on any new meter design and the overall rate structures and billing charges, particularly when these new meters are applied to the industrial clients where nonlinear loads are more common. This work investigates the performance of revenue meters based on existing definitions in comparison with the proposed fundamental only measuring method for waveforms recorded at a known harmonic producing load.
