Abstract :
Summary form only given. Transient-mode switching is minimized for the present complex-coupled DFB AlInGaAs-InP MQW laser design. Enhanced performance even under below threshold bias conditions has been demonstrated. Transmission over 200 km of fiber with 2 dB dispersion penalty using direct modulation scheme is thus possible.
