Abstract :
The authors present a dual-polarized frequency reuse feed that not only operates in the C-, X-, and Ku-bands but also has significantly extended bandwidths, >800 MHz in C-band and >1.5 GHz in Ku-band. Design issues are discussed, and measurement results are presented. The feed was retrofitted on a 13-m Cassegrain antenna. Ratio measurements taken on all three bands using noncooperative satellites indicate that better than 30 dB of crosspolar isolation has been achieved. A schematic diagram of the feed is shown.<>
