Abstract
This paper addresses the critical issues we found during experiments for recording sign language with motion capture. This technology is used to capture hands motion with considerable precision and allows to store hand motion trajectories in the space. The goal is to provide an Italian to Italian Sign Language translation through a virtual character that is a computer graphic realization of a Sign Language interpreter.
