Abstract :
A technique is described that promises the ability to directly and efficiently radiate high-power microwave energy generated in cylindrically symmetric waveguide modes. A configuration consisting of a circular waveguide radiator and a reflector produces a narrow beam with a gain of 20 dB from a TM/sub 01/ mode input at X-band. An additional reflector can be used to increase gain further. The design proposed by Vlasov (1974) is shown.<>
